In a breast reduction plastic surgery procedure (reduction mammaplasty), Dr. Malek will remove excess breast tissue, fat and skin, and then reshape your breasts. Dr. Malek uses surgical techniques designed to prevent a loss of sensitivity in the breasts and nipples. Post-operative patients wear a surgical bra around the chest for support and comfort. Mild discomfort may be expected for 1-2 days postoperatively. Dr. Malek utilizes an internal suture suspension technique to add fullness in the upper breast and longevity of shape. This creates a nearly “augmented” appearance as would be seen with implants in some breast augmentation patients.
